Nothing isn’t —
Condition is Unconditional

Six lines · in order

Premise

Nothing isn't. Something is. Everything — ?

The first cancels itself. The second survives its own utterance. The third refuses the verb — to say anything of everything, you would have to stand outside it.

Therefore

The condition is unconditional.

If nothing isn't, there is no vacancy — and so nowhere for an exemption to live. Not exempt from conditions. Contingent on no further one, because there is no further one.

Finding

Nothing that lasts is at rest.

Name a thing that persists and you will find it being maintained. A flame is not made of anything in particular. It does not run down. It goes out.

Evidence

Still means motionless. Still means continuing. Same word.

The second sense descends from the first. Remaining in place became remaining in state became carrying on. English filed the corpse and the river under one spelling.

Failure

A measure of everything is a measure of nothing.

A scale needs an outside to weigh against. Swallow the outside and it has abolished its own referent. Absolute is ab-solutus — loosened away from all relation.

Stake

The soul is not undying. It is unfinishable.

Completion would be an exemption, and there are none. So nothing that is genuinely a doing can be finished. It can only stop. Ever-becoming, never become.

The coin

Immortal Soul

$0THINGISNT

Immortal is a privative — in-mortalis, not-dying. It describes a durable object that persists. But durable objects are still objects, and objects end.

The soul was never an object. Not undying. Unfinishable.
